Heritage Service Frames

Family Heritage Framed Collections: Sometimes erroneously called honour boards, our standard custom designed and craftsman-made frames for holding military memorabilia measures 360mm x 550mm (approximately) and each one is developed in-house for you (see links to more examples at the bottom of the page). Whilst some people may prefer just a simple framed set of medals; others want to highlight their service (or the service of a family member, friend or colleague) with as many items as possible to give frame viewers a full account of their experience in the defence forces, police, security or emergency services.

Illustrated is an example of our flagship family memorabilia collection frame (we design smaller and larger), designed to hold anywhere from one to a full rack of full-sized medals. Medals in these frames are usually mounted 'as worn' either in court-mount or swing-mount style and can be ordered as a hinged model, allowing medals to be removed via the hinged front panel for wearing and replacing back into the frame after use. Each frame has room for a photo, a shadow box window holding service badges (originals or replicas), and another holding the medals (fully mounted) and a window detailing the brief history of the person of interest.

Be wary of frames that used cheap anodised aluminium, or 'instant frames' bought at retail shops - and take care that the framer cares about the work they do - and guarantee it. Buyer beware (Caveat Emptor) applies. It's why we offer a cast-iron guarantee on workmanship. Please note that all contents of frames are sold separately, or you may certainly supply originals for inclusion. These standard-sized frames are extremely popular and can take between 10 to 28 days to manufacture, depending on how quickly you can get photographs and other memorabilia to us.

When it comes to design; we've had many years of experience and all our framers are ex-military - we understand precision. Generally we mock up multiple designs until we create one for your memorabilia that we're happy enough to sign our name to - consequently it's just not possible to have a design previewed before it's done. All our customers for over twelve years have trusted us to create a design that works with the kit we have, and although we have a standard offer on the table to re-make any frame a client is not happy with - we've never had to re-make a single frame.

If you're sending valuable mementos to include in a frame, please make sure you send all items via registered mail. Lost your badges, medals and other accoutrements?
