Medal Riband Lengths

Is the riband (often called medal ribbon length) on your medals looking faded and grimy? We can help! Riband lengths are available for most Australian and British Commonwealth medals, with the exception of some foreign medals, and some now out-of-date commemoratives (mostly those issued by associations and private companies who have ceased operating). Prices vary, and although this price will cover most medals, we must reserve the right to adjust prices - with prior notice to you - because of currency fluctuations and manufacturers' changing price structures.

Some of the higher awards have very expensive riband, notably the Order of Australia, Order of the British Empire, Order of St John and some moired riband like the 1914-15 Stars, Victory Medal, Atlantic Star, Police Overseas Service and Ambulance Service Medals. There are others that will cost more, however in each instance we will contact you with a firm quote prior to shipping. In most instances of common medals though, this price will be accurate.

Full size replacement lengths are 250mm, miniature lengths are 150mm; enough to correctly court or swing mount your medal/s. Ribands are exact matches in terms of pattern and colour to the original issue. In the case of neck badges for orders, we regret that we cannot supply extended lengths or fasteners.

IMPORTANT: During the checkout process, you will see an instruction comments box titled "Special Instructions or Comments About Your Order" at the bottom of the page on Step 1 of the checkout process. Please specify the name of the medal riband/s needed by typing in the name/s of ribands you need in that comments instructions box.

Also be advised that we only stock Australian, British Commonwealth (as they apply to Australian issues) and New Zealand riband - plus some foreign riband where the medal has been widely issued to Australians. The Belgian and French Croix de Guerre, and the US Bronze Star for example. Medal riband from other countries and most commercial commemoratives is almost impossible to procure in smaller quantities.
